ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude are flexible general assistants; Perplexity is strongest as a source-backed research tool; and Poe gives students access to many models and community-built bots. The best choice depends on whether you need broad AI assistance or a study workflow designed around the IB.

What changed since the original tests
The original reports tested identical prompts on January 10, 2026. ChatGPT's responses were refreshed once with GPT-5.6 and Gemini's with Gemini 3.1 Pro on August 21, 2026; the other reports remain dated snapshots. None of these prompt tests should be read as a complete live feature inventory. These are the most important current corrections.
